Peace Baths
The medicinal waters that spring in the Extremadura dehesa and the natural mud from its streams will give you back the strength to go on
In the middle of the Extremadura dehesa, amongst oaks, holly-oaks and cork trees, the perfect setting for lovers of relaxation and the good life is to be found hidden away.
If you are one of them, the San Gregorio Baths and Fuentes del Trampal, two unique spots for relaxing between waters and massages, await you in Cáceres.
[CURRENTLY CLOSED] Located 4 kilometres from the town of Brozas (Cáceres), the San Gregorio Baths Spa, better known as the Brozas Spa, is considered an ideal place to rest. Remains found during restoration prove that these baths have their origins in Roman times. You can adapt your stay at these facilities to your time, your needs and your likes, so the experience you have here will be unique and personal.
The origins of the use of the waters from the Fuentes del Trampal Spa, located in the townlands of Carmonita (Cáceres), come from long ago, as both people who lived in the area and those who did not came to drink them due to their qualities, which had already been mentioned in the 19th century and were confirmed by analyses done in the mid-20th.
So, what better place to have a relaxing bath in the middle of a Mediterranean forest? Besides, due to its location, you can go hiking or walk around the hills, go mountain-biking, watch wild birds of prey and enjoy the waters and nature with all five senses.
If your trip takes you through Badajoz, include a visit to the El Raposo Spa, belonging to the town of Puebla de Sancho Pérez, on your itinerary. You'll discover one of the few spas in Spain – and the only one in Extremadura – that specialises in the application of natural muds taken from a nearby river.
Also near the spa, there are horse routes across the dehesa, which follow ancient trails, rivers and paths through the very heart of nature. An ideal complement that adds the finishing touch to the healthiest of getaways.
