Located next to the town of Hornachos, these mountains are covered in junipers and bushes, creating one of the many mountainous beauty spots to be found in the district of Sierra Grande-Tierra de Barros. Water from the mountains flows down into three different rivers: Matachel, Guadámez and Palomillas, where you can find otters, European pond turtles and Mediterranean pond terrapins alongside many other species such as coots, grebes, egrets and storks
