A place that offers the best views of the beauty of the monumental city of Cáceres.
In Sierra de Mosca, at an altitude of about 600 metres, you will find this chapel dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Montaña, the patron of Cáceres since 1906. Her festivity is held every year on the first Sunday in May, and this is a good day to visit.
The chapel of the Virgen de la Montaña, the carving of whom dates back to the 17th century, was built in the 18th century. On the inside, which is decorated in Baroque style, you will be able to see representations of both Santa Ana and El Cristo de la Salud, the works of Juan Salvador Carmona, and the main altarpiece, in Churrigueresque style.
