In Sierra de Gata Mountains we come across this small town, with special architecture that makes it unique.
It belongs to the province of Cáceres, borders Las Hurdes and the province of Salamanca, and is situated in the heart of the Sierra de Gata Mountains. If you like places with charm, this is your perfect destination because Robledillo de Gata boasts a historical site that has been designated a cultural heritage site.
The town is made up of houses of different sizes and rustic materials, slate, clay, chestnut wood, oak. Unique traditional architecture and the countryside and water surrounding Robledillo make this place an essential destination for those who love nature and history.
One of its main attractions is its historic quarter. You can go for a walk and enjoy the streets, and take beautiful photos of this special place. Another interesting place in Robledillo is the Molino del Medio, which is an old olive-oil mill that is perfectly preserved. Discover how the water moves this mill, the machinery and tools that are hidden inside, and you can even taste the oil.
Another place not to be missed is the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, built in the 16th century, which stands out above the hamlet. It is a very interesting building because it has an unusual hexagonal floor plan, a large round portico and a vestry with Mudejar coffering. -
