The aim of the collections in this museum is to create a guiding thread so as to achieve an in-depth understanding of the artistic works of Ricardo Pecharromán y Morales
The Museum Foundation Pecharromán is located in a 16th-century wood and stone Protected Building with 3 storeys and cellars and which during the time of Alfonso XIII was a state school. Situated in the historic quarter of Pasarón de la Vera, Noble Villa was declared a Site of Historical and Artistic Interest in 1998 and nestles within the Comarca de la Vera district. Since 1996 it has been the home of the museum as such thanks to the generosity of the artist who combines his activity with that of conservation.
The aim of the collections is to give form to a strict and profound line of action, to reach a satisfactory understanding of the artistic work of Pecharromán taking into account the time and society he lived in, and his historical-artistic development in relation to the aesthetic movements of the avant-garde. Here are some of the collections on view: The "Movida Madrileña" movement, the Olympic Games, Dialogue of Painting with Music since Postmodernism and a series of collections dedicated to different painters: Goya, Zurbarán and Dalí amongst others.
The access floor holds the temporary exhibition rooms. The main floor is dedicated to rotating exhibitions of drawings and paintings by Pecharromán which are kept in the museum's collections, and a series of documents on the life of this painter from Madrid. And on the studio floor, in addition to other paintings you'll find the documentary collections, the reading room and a great sun trap in the main facade, typical of these buildings in Comarca de la Vera.
