In the midst of reed beds, bushweeds and canes, you will find an uncontaminated space where many species of animals live, rest and feed every day.
The river Lácara flows into the reservoir of Los Canchales, where its waters accumulate, turning this space surrounded by dehesas and large expanses of irrigated crops into a SPA inhabited by numerous species of animals.
Its characteristics - which are difficult to find anywhere else in the region - make this a special area, where the flooded spaces that form in winter transform into plains and mud flats that are highly attractive for birds during summer.
So if you stroll around it, you will be able to see a wealth of bird life, most notably species like the little tern, the collared pratincole, the white stork and the little egret. And in winter you can often see common cranes, common spoonbills and common waxbills.
