Situada In the province of Badajoz, this SPA contains the lagoon system of La Albuera, classified of international importance according to the criteria of the Ramsar convention. Its natural wealth comes from the waters of the streams of Rivillas and Entrín, the bank of the river Limonetes, the river Guadajira and the Boo creek. And this is borne out by its aquatic habitat, characterised by temporary Mediterranean ponds and riverside vegetation, inhabited by the European otter and the Mediterranean turtle.

And it contains different types of birds as well, like the great bustard and the common crane.

This protected natural space is distributed amongst the municipalities of La Albuera, Badajoz, Corte de Peleas, Entrín Bajo, Nogales, Santa Marta, Torre de Miguel Sesmero, Valverde de Leganés and Villalba de los Barros.
