Garganta de Descuernacabras gorge, in the Cáceres municipality of Valdecañas del Tajo, boasts a magnificent natural swimming pool.
Garganta de Descuernacabras is a gorge stretching from the Sierra de Guadalupe mountains, in the district of Los Ibores, all the way to the river Tagus. As the gorge carves its way through the municipality of Valdecañas del Tajo, Cáceres province, it creates a natural swimming pool where you can have a refreshing dip on hot summer days.
As well as enjoying a cool swim, you can also enjoy a unique landscape that is home to many species of birds, most notably eagles, vultures, egrets and goshawks. You can also go fishing, as the water is an ideal habitat for barbel, black bass, bream and carp. -
