If its walls could talk they would tell millions of stories due to the huge amount of tasks that have been carried out inside them.
If there is one thing that characterises the convent of San Francisco, it is the large amount of uses it has been put to throughout its history. Famous figures have lived inside it, and poor passers-by have found shelter here; it was the seat of the scholastic theology college and an important library, barracks and stables in wartime, a provincial hospital, a charitable institution and a boarding school for orphans from the province.
In 1981, the year in which the San-Francisco Cultural Complex-El Brocense Cultural Institution was established, the Eulogio Blasco school of fine arts, a dance school and music conservatory, was installed nearby.
If you decide to visit it, you will see that this convent is now used primarily for hosting congresses and exhibitions in its large church-auditorium, four big halls and four cloisters, amongst other spaces. Concerts are also held here, as well as theatrical performances, conferences, etc....
