The beautiful Neoclassical façade opens onto a large Tuscan courtyard and an old chapel.
This building in the province of Cáceres was under construction for a long time, from the 15th until the 18th century. It was the property of the Marquesses of Camarena until it was sold in the 20th century.
The first feature you will observe in this palace is the 18th century Neoclassical façade. The exterior is decorated windows adorned with architraves and the Carvajal and Ulloa coats of arms. Other features are the robust corner tower, a sign of its age, and its cantilevered machicolation.
Once inside the building, your attention will be drawn to the delightful three-storey Tuscan courtyard of large dimensions. At present it is used for exhibitions. There is also the chapel where several tablets by Divino Morales were found.
The work carried out by Gerardo de Ayala between 1986 y 1989 enables us to enjoy the beauty of this building which has been renovated both inside and out. -
